Michael and I have been blessed in so many ways by the people that surround us....

  • One of our youth gave us a gift card to Outback (my favorite!) and free babysitting for Valentine's Day....we enjoyed that gracious gift tonight! Blessing!
  • A man in our church plows are driveway after each heavy snowfall, which has been a ton this winter...what a blessing!
  • We have a friend who cuts Michael's, Drew's, and Noah's hair, and waxes my, she picks up our hair products for us! Super blessing!
  • Our family went to Middle School winter retreat last weekend and a group of 8th grade girls surrounded my boys and took them off my hands for an hour! Nice!
  • A family from church stopped by yesterday to drop off two packages of!
  • I feel like I just started cooking again after all the meals people brought us after Isaac's birth!
These are seriously just a few of the ways we have been blessed by people in the last few months. I love being part of a church body that is so loving and wanting to bless others. I know that we aren't the only recipients of such blessings. I hope to show my boys the importance of giving and helping and blessing others...

Six Weeks Already?!!?

It is so hard to believe that our sweet Isaac is already six weeks old...where has the time gone? He is still the sweetest, most precious baby ever! We absolutely adore him!!!!

And here are some black and white ones...I put this one on here in color and black and white because I thought it was so good both ways!!!!

Wow, it is cold. The high for today is 5. That's right FIVE degrees.

Our power went out around 2:00 am this morning. I heard the carbon monoxide detector beeping off and on, so I got up and unplugged it. Isaac got me up at 3:30 to eat, and the house was down to 63. It was pitch black, so that made for an interesting middle of the night diaper change. I felt so bad because it was so cold. I had Isaac swaddled, then a fleece blanket over him and an afghan over him, too! Then I went in the boys room and put extra blankets on top of them as well. By the time we got up this morning, the house was 58 and by the time I left for church, it was 55. The electric company said it should be back on by noon....I sure do hope so! Otherwise, I might stay at church all day! I hope my cats don't get into the tubs of food on the back porch....I didn't know where else to put it!

My children are becoming more independent, and I LOVE it!!!

  • Drew now dresses himself. I lay out his clothes, and he does the rest. He even goes potty alone. It is nice that he does this one task alone!
  • Noah loves to play alone...well, at times! He does so well. He'll be in a totally different room, and stay entertained for long periods of time.
  • Isaac now takes a bottle....which gives me so much freedom! For example, tonight I'm going shopping and to dinner with some friends....just ME!
  • Last night we were at a CREW get together and both Noah and Drew played with the other kids and didn't need us at all! It was great!!!!
On another note, I'm doing much, much, much better. The hematoma is pretty much gone. I haven't had any pain medicine in at least three days! Woohoo! Isaac is taking great naps and sleeping long stretches at night! I love it! Life is good...

I haven't updated lately on my condition. Let me just start by saying this has been one tough recovery for me...which is unusual because the other two were so easy!!!! First it started with that nasty infection, which cleared up after a dose of antibiotics and some oozing! Well, about a week ago I started having pain again in my incision area. By Wed. it was pretty severe, so off to the Dr. I go. My Dr. wasn't sure what was going on, so she sent me for a CAT scan. The scan showed that I have a hematoma. Not exactly sure as to what that entails, but I know it hurts and I want it to go away. They have me on another dose of antibiotics and Vicodin for the pain. They are hoping that my body reabsorbs the hematoma on it's own. I hope that happens...quickly! :)

Well, yesterday I got some flowers from my parents...they definitely cheered me up and made me feel better. Thank you so much, Mom and Dad!

Aren't they beautiful????

Well, when they delivered them, Michael came to me (I was napping!) and said that some flowers were delivered, but not to anyone who lives here...this is how they were addressed...

I looked at it and it took a second for it to register and to figure out what Michael was talking about! They were sent to Mandy Daniel...that was me about 8 1/2 years ago!!!! So we got a good laugh out of that. I think it was an innocent mistake...or maybe my parents are trying to tell Michael something! :)

Room Pictures!

Oh, and a few pictures of Isaac! I haven't been very intentional about getting good pictures of Isaac, but here are a few I took just so everyone can see how he is growing! I can't believe he is one month old time flies!!!!!!

Here is Isaac's room. I absolutely love how it turned out. When this was Drew's room, the bottom half was red, and the top half was gray. We didn't want to repaint the red, so after looking at the bedding, we decided to keep the red, and paint yellow on top. I think it turned out great. I knew I wanted to do a cornice board in his room, but didn't know what to do it in. So I decided to do it blue, and then I had Carol (Michael's mom) draw animals from the bedding on it, then the two of painted them. I bought too much material, so with the extra, she drew individual pictures of animals and we painted them, and Michael made frames for me to staple them to. I think it turned out great. I'm lucky to have such a talented mother-in-law!!!!

This is the quilt for our bedding....and what Carol used to base her animals on...

Many of you know that Drew and Noah now share a room because we had to have a room for Isaac. So we moved Drew into Noah's room and repainted it. They love being together and have a super cute room. We basically used the same theme for their combined room that we had used for Drew. So I made the bedding for the toddler bed and the lamp shade and the cornice board. I had to make another cornice board to go over the other window, and their room is complete! Well, I still want to paint some cars for their walls. So here are some pictures of their room...
