Very-Important-Person

Drew was the VIP yesterday at preschool, which means a parent goes with him to help and provides a snack for him and his classmates. He also gets to bring a few show and tell items. This was his second time as VIP, the first being back in September. Back then, he was pretty clingy to me and not very responsive to his teacher or friends....this time was TOTALLY different! He is amazing! He did two very impressive things....first, his teacher asks each kid to spell their names in the morning, and he rattles of D-R-E-W like he has been doing it all along. I had no clue he could spell his name!!!!! Then later, I was working with the kids on a little activity, and at the end, I asked the group if they wanted me to write their names on their paper...two of the kids said they could. So then I asked Drew if he wanted me to, and he proceeded to WRITE his name. He was concentrating so hard....and all the letters were facing the right direction. I did not know he could do this either!!! What a little smartie pants! He did great at school and is so polite and respectful to his teachers and his friends. I loved watching him interact. I'm just amazed at all that he is learning and retaining...it makes it a little scary because the kid pays attention to everything...then asks about it later. Makes me very careful with the TV, radio, conversations, etc... He is growing up into a great little boy! What a doll!!!!

That's funny. I remember trying to help Drew spell his name back in January and he did pretty good. Doesn't take long for them to pick up on stuff and yes, they will remember everything they see and hear. Give all the boys a hug for me. Love, MOM
