Tidbits...

Isaac is crawling! Full-blown, up on all fours CRAWLING! It's a whole new world...back to vacuuming and sweeping non-stop! He is so quiet, too...I have to track him down a lot of the times. He can also stand in his crib. Too bad he hasn't mastered sitting down after standing! But he can go from crawling to sitting on the floor! It's so cute! I'll try to get some pictures!

Drew is at a birthday party. It's his first one to go to all by himself. Michael dropped him off at 12:00 and it doesn't end until 3:30 or 4:00. Wow! Isn't he too young for this kind of stuff?!? Good thing he is right down the street at our good friends' house! No worries from me! He was so excited. I can't wait to hear all about it.

Noah is talking up a storm now...and most people can actually understand him! His vocabulary is amazing. He talks in full sentences and even gets his pronouns right! He is getting way too big way too fast!!!

Well, I'm off to naptime...better enjoy my day with just putting two of them down for a nap instead of three!

Bike Trip to the Upper Peninsula!

This summer the youth group did a bike/mission trip to the U.P. It was an amazing trip...lots of great memories! We left early on Friday, August 1st and came home on August 6th. We took Drew and Noah, but left Isaac with friends...which turned out to be great, because there is no way we could have done what we did with him! Michael and the boys slept in a tent the entire time, and I slept in a tent the first night, then migrated into the house for the rest of the nights! We stayed at a place called "A Solitary Place," which is a place of respite for pastors and their families to go. There is a nice little house there that has three bedroom and one bath, set on 600 acres of nothing but land! The house is on a generator, so no electricity! At night we could hear the coyotes! It was a amazing...I have never seen the stars so big and bright! A great place to meet with God and reflect on His creation!

Michael ended up riding 194 miles, and I rode 125 miles! I was pretty impressed with both of us! Here are a few pictures from the trip...

Michael is in red...pulling into a sag stop for some nourishment! :)

Michael and me...we didn't dress a like on purpose!!!
This is at lunch one day... It was so fun to see how the high schoolers gathered around the boys and loved on them! They boys ate it up! Noah is doing push ups with Tim here...
Part of the trip was spent serving the people of the U.P. We did a lot of wood chopping for a church and a widow...both use wood to heat their church/home during the winter. It took us two days to get through all of the wood!!! We also helped out at a CareNet Pregnancy Center doing odd type jobs...weeding, painting, putting up shades, changing light bulbs, etc.
One day we rode to Tahquanemon Falls...what a beautiful place! Here I am with Sarah and Amanda. I logged the majority of my miles with these sweet girls! They waited for me and pushed me to finish...and they even experienced my panic when a hornet swarmed me for 18 miles! :) Family photo shot...Drew not wanting to look at the camera!
Aren't the Falls beautiful?

Drew posing with a moose....

Drew shooting the moose...
Since there was only one shower at the site, a lot of evenings we would just go to Lake Superior and "shower" there...it was a bit too cold for my liking, so I stood in line for the real shower!
Our last morning we gathered around the cross at "A Solitary Place" to reflect on the trip and pray. It was an amazing time and an all around amazing trip! I hope we get to do it again!!!

ER Visit Number Two!

Michael and I learned early on that Noah would be our accident prone child. He is just so active and brave...those two don't always mix well! A few weeks ago we went camping with our adult small group. It was a fun weekend, but on Saturday it decided to rain ALL day. So instead of spending the day in a tent, we all went over to the Miller's house to "camp" there. I had packed up our tent very quickly, and forgot to leave clothes out for Noah, so he started the day in his pj's, borrowed some clothes from Gideon, pooped through onto the borrowed shorts, and ended the day in the same pajamas! Around 4:45, Noah was standing on a stool and somehow fell off and caught his lip on the corner of an end table. Michael rushed over and started soothing him and I asked if it was bleeding....it was....a lot! When I got a closer look it was very obvious that he needed stitches. Prior to falling he asked for a banana (which is why he was getting off of the stool...to go get it!), and while we are trying to get out the door to take him to the ER, he is crying for that banana and a green balloon that he had been playing with. So we get him loaded in the car, he eats about three bites of banana, and falls asleep...a hard sleep. Poor guy!

He continues to sleep as we transport him from the car to the hospital...then through registration and the initial look over...

He is still sleeping as Michael passes him off to me and they numb the site...

He finally wakes up when they make me put him down on the bed and start poking him with the needle. But as soon as the doctor was finished, the crying stopped and Noah resumed his normal active self!

As I mentioned earlier, this is the second set of stitches for Noah. Both times that he has gone, he has looked pretty pathetic. This time, we was in dirty pajamas with no shoes on, and hadn't had a bath in about two days (remember, we were camping!!!). Check out his first trip to the ER...it was after our annual mudbowl, so he was filthy!

Happy Birthday, Drew!!!

Drew turned four last month! It's hard to believe that four years ago Michael and I moved to Michigan when I was 36 weeks pregnant....wow, we have come a long way since then!!! Drew has grown into such a sweet, happy, healthy, smart four year old who continuously makes us laugh and amazes us with his thoughts!

His birthday fell on a Sunday this year, which is a pretty busy day for us! So after nap time, we headed to his favorite place...Red Robin! He loves that he can eat as many french fries his little heart desires!

When we got home from dinner, he opened his gifts! I was so proud of how patient he was all day...I know he was itching to open them, but waited until just the right time!

What a little ham....and unlike most kids, he didn't just throw the clothes aside!

Here he is with his new light sabors....my parents bought these for him and they are getting used daily!

Drew has been begging us to go to Chuck E Cheese forever it seems. So a few days after his birthday, we took him! He was allowed to invite one friend, so he chose his best friend (other than Noah, of course!), Tyler.

Tyler, Noah, and Drew liked to ride the rides together...needless to say, it took a LONG time to use all of our tokens!

Once again, Drew is a confused super hero!!! Ha ha!

In our family, Michael is the cake decorator! I think he did a fantastic job on Drew's cake! Turns out, he had a very similar cake for his 5th birthday...I should scan in a picture of it!

After Chuck E Cheese, we had a "little" gathering for Drew...there were about 45 people there!!! It's so neat to see that our sons are loved by our friends! He had a great time at his party !
