Wow, has time flown by! I cannot believe that six weeks have passed since we welcomed our precious, sweet, beautiful, amazing Lindley into the world!!! She has been a blessing every moment of her life thus far! She is eating like a champ (look at those cheeks!!!), sleeps great, has started smiling…amazing! Her brothers adore her more than anything!!! Michael and I are still in awe that we we have a daughter!

Lindley is doing so well adjusting to our family! She is definitely the little princess of the house and adored by all! She has Daddy wrapped around her sweet little finger already. I can't get over how different it is to have a girl…I didn't realize how much I wanted her to be a girl until she came out a girl! I'm not much of a girly girl myself, but I'm having so much fun picking out which outfit she'll wear, what bow matches that outfit, looking at girly stuff online, etc… I never had much joy deciding on clothes for the boys! She is growing well…at her two week appointment last week, she weighed in at 9 lbs 4 oz, so way over her birth weight! She also grew 1/2"! She does great with tummy time, loves her baths, sleeps great, and rarely cries. She is already very predictable in her schedule, which makes life easy for me! What a doll!!!
Her first baseball glove!!! It's bigger than her!
Our friend Julie has been arranging meals for us…it has been so nice to not have to worry about cooking right now. This is a chicken pot pie that my friend Sara made for us…delicious! I loved the "L" in the center! What love!
Michael's mom has been here for just about two weeks now, helping out with stuff around the house and the boys kids while we adjust to having a fourth child. She brought a fun painting craft for the boys to work on…Drew and Noah painted wooden snakes and Isaac painted a wooden lizard! Fun stuff!
Our sweet Isaac is almost two...less than a month. He is just amazing...but I'm afraid for the first time ever we might have a child who slightly fits into the "terrible two's" category...he does like to test his limits!!! We shall see how the next year goes... Here are a few pictures that one of our high school students took a few weeks back. He is just growing like a weed and getting more and more words daily! He is still very obedient and finally learned what "gentle" means when dealing with his baby sister!
A few nights ago, Michael was going in to tuck Noah and Isaac in bed, and when he opened the door, this is what he saw! Keep in mind that the flash makes it look light, but in reality, it was a bit confusing at first...hard to tell which was the life-size monkey and which was Isaac!

I know it's been quite awhile since I have updated our blog, but we've been busy. The basement is finally at a great place...Michael and I love our retreat downstairs. And the nursery is complete (except now I'm contemplating redecorating!). BUT, most importantly, we had a sweet, beautiful, precious, amazing DAUGHTER on November 19, 2009. Lindley Elyse was born at 8:21am and weighed in at 8 lbs. 11 oz and is 21 inches long. She is doing super well...sleeps a lot and is eating like a champ. Michael and I are both in awe of this sweet blessing....and the boys are just as excited to have a little sister. So cute! Poor Lindley is in for it with three older brothers to protect her and keep the boys away! :)

Noah had his first day of preschool today! He is so excited to be going to the same school that Drew went to and to have Mrs. Meyering! I'm just as excited as he is....it is a great program and Mrs. Meyering is an amazing teacher! I just can't get over the fact that Noah is old enough for preschool!!!!
Looks like love, huh!?

Michael had a fun Labor Day Weekend...working on the basement pretty much every waking hour!!!! It is really coming along...I'm so excited about our HUGE closet and much bigger bedroom! The closet is now framed in and the duct work is done. He is currently working on the electrical stuff...new outlets in the closet and laundry room, light in the closet, and a ceiling fan in the bedroom. Drywall is set to be delivered on Wednesday and the windows for the bedroom and the baby's room are ordered and will be here in 2-3 weeks.
This is a view from the laundry room looking through the closet into the bedroom...
Inside the closet...you can see where Michael had to do some fancy framing to make sure we could still access the well room from the laundry room...
This is the doorway that we are walling in...there were two entrances to this room before, but now there is only one!
View of the closet from the bedroom looking toward the laundry room...you can see that the pocket door is installed!

Summer is officially over for Drew! He started his young-5's class at Kalamazoo Christian today. He only goes Mon-Wed-Fri from 8:30-11:30, so it shouldn't be too taxing on him! If you are wondering why he is doing young-5's it is because when I was teaching, I could always tell a HUGE difference in the boys who were younger than the rest of their classmates. I told myself back then if I ever had a boy born in the summer months I would automatically hold him back a year. I have no doubt in my mind that Drew is "ready" socially, physically, academically and spiritually to succeed in a regular Kindergarten program now, but Michael and I decided that we would give him the advantage of being the oldest in his class then the youngest. We are very comfortable with our decision and it does not seem to bother him at all!
Here is a picture of Drew this morning outside our house... If you want to compare this picture to last years first day of preschool picture, click here!
Today was just an orientation/meet the teacher type of day, so I was with him the entire time. On Wednesday he'll go by himself, and then he is off Friday and Monday for Labor Day! The kids had to make a little name tag today.
Checking out the playground!
It was a fun morning. He has a handful of kids from his preschool days that are in his class again this year. I have heard wonderful things about his teacher, Mrs. Thomas. And, one of our favorite volunteers at church, Grandpa Joe (as everyone calls him!) has been volunteering at East Elementary for eleven years and will still volunteer there this year even though the school is closed to all grades but the young-5's class! It was nice for Drew to see a very familiar face!

Not sure who Drew thinks he is, but he sure made us laugh! :) He is constantly dressing up as different "characters" and layers all of his clothing! Silly boy!
I bought Drew and Noah a lot of school supplies for them to play with at home. Every time I pull them out, Isaac is on top of the kitchen table joining in! Sometimes he is a pain with it, and others he is very cooperative!
Here's Spiderman, a.k.a Drew, painting an airplane with his new supplies!
I can never seem to get a shot of the three of them together....so this is the best I could do. Nice shot of the backs of their heads, huh!?
We spent the day at Lake MI a few Saturdays back when we were up in Hart visiting Mike and Lee. The boys played so hard and had such a blast...and amazingly, the water wasn't too terribly cold!
Isaac looks slightly unhappy here, but he wasn't....just the action shot I took! :)

Last week a lady from church took Michael, Drew and Noah up in her airplane for a ride around town! Drew did not want to go because he apparently doesn't like airplanes, he like jet planes. But Michael forced him to go and he had a BLAST!!! They both loved it and got to see our house, our church, and Gull Lake! Here are a few photos from their adventure!!!
Noah enjoying the sights and sounds...
Does this look like a kid that doesn't like airplanes?!?!
This is my favorite picture...a framer for sure!!!
Arial shot of our church...
And one of our house...I wish I could circle it to show it to you...but I don't know how!
After the ride...what a fun adventure!
