We celebrated Isaac's 1st birthday in Texas. My nephew Wes is exactly 2 weeks older than Isaac, so we decided to have a joint party for the cousins! Lynnell was amazing and did all of the work...thanks, Lynnell!!!!
What a cute birthday cake!
Isaac playing in leftover icing!
Wes looking adorable! He has the most incredible blue eyes...just like his mom and brother!
Lynnell helping Wes open some gifts...I didn't get any decent pictures of Isaac opening his gifts!
Oh, and we also celebrated my birthday while we were in Texas! This is a carrot cake that Michael made me...completely from scratch! He made the same cake last year, and it was so good that I requested it again! He's pretty amazing!
This post is way overdue!!!! We had a great Christmas Day spent with my family. The amount of gifts that circulate through my parents' house on this day is crazy!!!! Between my oldest brother and us, there are five boys under 5! So at times it was a bit chaotic, but overall they were great! Here are just a few pictures from the day...
Uncle Andy and Noah with Noah's hard hat!
Here is my dad holding Wes with Isaac close by!
Wade with Aunt Jaime in the background!
This is a family photo of the family, minus my oldest brother Matt. We completely forgot to take the family picture on Christmas Day, so we had to take it the next day. Matt had to report back for work, so he was not in the picture. We were all pretty amazed that everyone was sort of looking at the camera!
For those of you who don't know, or don't remember, I'm training for my second 1/2 marathon. I ran one back in April of 2007...turns out I ran that race about 5 weeks pregnant with Isaac. So needless to say, after that race, I didn't run again until recently. I started my official training on Jan. 24th and from then until Feb. 28th I logged 74.85 miles of running! Lots of people think I am crazy for running in the cold, but it really isn't that bad. If you have the right attire, it is actually pretty comfortable. I am training with my friend Michelle, and we do our long runs on the weekends. There have been several times that we felt like we were hurdle training instead of distance training with all of the snow mounds we had to jump! Currently the snow is gone, so that makes our runs even easier! Here is a picture of us before a run...this was on an extremely cold day. We use the scarfs to breathe through so that our lungs have warm air instead of the bitter cold!
The race is on April 25! I'll keep updating my progress every now and then!
