Happy 2012!!!

Every year, as far back as I can remember, I've had the same meal on New Year's Day: black-eye peas, mashed potatoes, sauerkraut, and corn bread. This year, my sweet friend Sara gave me a ham bone, so for the first time ever I made my black-eye peas from dry peas and they were delicious! We invited our friends over (the ones who gave me the ham bone) and she had completely done her research on "Southern" traditions on New Year's Day. So now, after we have engulfed our meal, we shall have health, wealth and prosperity for 2012!



Now, as far as resolutions...I haven't set any yet. As always, I try to be organized... Here is my January meal menu and my grocery lists that coincide. This is something I've been doing for quite some time and it has helped me tremendously with time, money,
and diversity at mealtime.


As always, I try to stay consistent in God's word....to soak up His Truths and to really let
that time and His Word light the way for me.

As always, I still try to be intentional with the kids...to see them as individuals, to understand their little hearts, to know their strengths, their weaknesses. To point them toward Christ and to teach them to make their faith their own. These aren't easy tasks, and I try to not take them lightly. Michael and I have some pretty good ideas on how we are going to continue to shepherd their hearts this year...

I kicked off January with "The 30 Day Shred" again. This seems like a good way to kick my tail back into shape for the upcoming year. I also plan on running the Colfax 1/2 this May. I've started doing Yoga at the gym pretty regularly. Now if I could just get us to eat better, healthier, less...then my body would reflect my exercising. :)

Love your "resolutions"! You are already wonderful at all of those things, but it is inspiring to see you want to be that much better!

Beth and I just started "30 Day Shred" as well--my arms, legs...ok, every part of my body--hate me :).
