And She's Off...

She's our last.  And this is her last year before starting school full time.

I still vividly remember the moment SHE was born, and Michael announcing to me that she was a girl. After three bouncy baby boys, a girl was quite the surprise.

I listened to the doctors who were performing the c-sectrion...

Doctor: "Well, Dad...are you going to tell her?"

Michael: (all choked up) "I just want to be sure..."

At that moment I knew.  I knew that I had just birthed a princess.

And now that princess is in her last year of preschool.

Talking to Dad before leaving for school...she was so excited and so talkative!

This girl.  She is beautiful, sweet, sassy, smart, independent, brave, and oh so fun.

Look at her!  Who knew we would ever have a blonde?!

At school...she's beaming.

Since it's just the two of us at home during the day,
we decided to go on a quick lunch date to celebrate school!

Good luck, sweet girl.  Have so much fun.  Learn lots and meet new friends.
But just like the boys, we expect you to be a blessing, my love.

Chicken Produce

I read a status update on Facebook earlier today that made me laugh...

"The number of pets we have now outnumbers the number in our family. We are those people."

Well, I guess we are those
people, too.

Last March, we welcomed six new members to our family:  Lucy, Elizabeth, Demetria Violet, Ursula, Diamond, and last but not least, Rebecca (a.k.a. Re-peck-a).

Luckily, these are contributing members of our family....as of last week, these girls started laying!  Not all of them, I believe only two of them are laying now...
but the others should follow suit soon.

Peachy Thing

What is your favorite fruit?  For this sweet girl, it's definitely peaches.

And man, this girl can savor every sweet bite of a juicy peach.

Pure delight and enjoyment in something so GOOD.

Savor what is good in life.  Take pure delight and enjoyment in the moments.  Capture them in your heart and hold on to them for when we forget the good and cling to the bad.  Because, really, there is no bad if we immerse ourselves in the TRUTH of His word and hold tight.

 "Be joyful always..."
